Since it was my Father who introduced Rachel’s mother to her father, and I am her cousin, I can attest to her divine
personality. To switch roles and have to provide for your husband and your family in midstream is hard enough. She takes what God gives her, no more and no less.
We are from a long line of strong Greek Cretean island Greek women. Our Greek grandmother came to America and worked as a bilingual in American banks in Pittsburgh before marrying her Spartan husband. She died of liver cancer after 49 1/2 years of marriage. We are good stock of Americans! It is the simple minded acceptance of God’s will that gives you the strength to move on and survive an unhappy life challenge.
