BRx Berggren & Koon

Today on Legacy Leaders Radio, Jack Perry Jr. and his guests, Chaplin Kenneth Koon and Real Life Center’s Cathy Berggren, discuss the issue of restoring hope with families that are hurting, and working with non-profits in the community.

U.S. Army Reserve Chaplin Kenneth Koon is an Officer in charge of suicide intervention and training. He works with more than 600 soldiers in his unit, and he volunteers to train 22,000 soldiers in personal and spiritual resilience.  As a result, he has gained a greater awareness of the magnitude of suicide, the issues of those in crisis, and the trauma of those left with the loss.  Born from his work, Armed Forces Mission, Inc., was formed as a non-profit organization to restore hope for America’s troops, veterans, and citizens at risk of suicide through intervention training of community caregivers, and personal intervention by qualified staff and volunteers. For more information, visit www.armedforcesmission.com

Cathy Berggren is the executive director of the Real Life Center, a highly respected non-profit, with a sole mission to help those who are hurting, and provide a safe environment for people to build new, healthy relationships, and create positive change in their lives.

Cathy develops innovative processes of holistic care, which are designed to encourage change as well as implement measurable goals for client families. The program has a 90 percent success rate of stability in the home, and a 75 percent success rate of families meeting goals. She is a proven leader in organizational development, fundraising, and working with diverse people and environments.  Cathy is also an active member of the Fayette Factor, and Georgia Association for Dispute Resolution.  For more information, visit www.reallifecenter.org
